Shepherds nights Festival preparation
PCR is preparing for its annual event –The Shepherds Nights Festival- taking place in Beit Sahour December, 23th – 25th. Local musical bands, dancing and theatrical groups are to perform during the festival. A tent will be set up to keep the audience warm and dry.
Health and Human Rights Project 7th - 8thJuly, 2012
A group of both Arabs and Americans consisting of 14 people arrived from the US, and were hosted by Christian and Muslim Palestinian families. They’ve experienced the nature of life of Palestinians besides sharing the culture and related issues.
Summer Celebration Program of June and July
For its fifth consecutive year, Siraj Center organized the Palestinian Summer Celebration, where participants were hosted by Palestinian families. Most of the participants spent one month experiencing nature in Palestine, taking cooking and Arabic language courses, and doing volunteer work.
Middle East Education through Technology (MEET) Group from 29th June - 14th July 2012
The MEET Group visited Bethlehem and Ramallah. The Nativity Church was its first destination, then toured the historic town of Bethlehem. Following, the Group members visited Bethlehem University, the Shepherds Field, and had the experience of seeing the Separation Wall around the Bethelehem.
Hosting Telos Group in Palestinian Families Homes from 11th - 12th June 2012
An American Group Called Telos Visited Siraj Center on June 11th, and at the end of the day, the group members spread out to different Palestine families to overnight with them, and to experience Palestinian life.
Justice and Pilgrimage in the Holy Land from May 21st 23rd, 2012
The Siraj Center’s Michel Awad made a presentation in Bonn on how hiking trails can become pilgrimage routes.
Mapping Abrahams Path from May 14th June 4th, 2012
David Landis, the founder of Jesus Trail, walked the whole of Abraham’s Path in Palestine to map the trail, provide GPS for hikers, write the trail description, and take photos.
Anders Reizen from May 19th - 28th, 2012
The Siraj Center arranged for a delegation of 14 people from Belgian to travel through Palestine. They made the tour to learn more about the reality of the situation on the ground.
Host Families Meeting - April 26, 2012
The Siraj Center convened a meeting of the ‘host families’ who are providing food and accommodation to guests along Abraham’s Path and other walking trails.
Richard Glen Walk, April 10th 13th, 2012
A mixed American and Australian group also walked Abraham’s Path, taking in Nablus, Aqraba, Duma, Kufr Malek, and Taybeh. The walkers stayed with Palestinian host families or in small hotels along the way, and enjoyed learning about the landscape, culture, and food of rural Palestine.
Abrahams Path Walk through Palestine, April 1st 05th, 2012
An international group of six hikers completed a walk along part of Abraham’s Path in Palestine. They began their journey in Nablus, exploring the old city before staying overnight with local families in the village of Awarta, just to the south.
International Travel Fair in Berlin, March 7th 10th 2012
The Executive Director of the Siraj Center for Holy Land studies, Michel Awad, represented Siraj at the International Travel Fair (ITB) in Berlin, as part of the delegation organized by the Palestinian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
Sabeel Group, March 23rd + March 30th 31st, 2012
A delegation of 14 high-school students from the United States visited Palestine as part of an international youth exchange program coordinated by the Sabeel organization.
Swiss group walks the Nativity Trail, March 18th - March 30th, 2012
A delegation of 10 people from Switzerland hiked along the Nativity Trail from Nazareth to Bethlehem. Along the way they explored the Sea of Galilee, Jenin, Nablus, Jerusalem, Jericho, and the monastery of Mar Saba
Harvard Students Trek, March 10th - March 18th, 2012
A delegation from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government visited Palestine, organized by the Palestine Caucus at that school.
The 53-strong delegation was comprised of alumni from the Kennedy School, the Business School, and the Law School, together with Harvard College former missionaries.
Group from Japan, March 1st 10th, 2012
Hosted by the Siraj Center, a group of nine Japanese professors, journalists, and film directors has made a tour of Palestine to learn more about the reality of the situation on the ground.
Japanese group walks the Nativity Trail February 28th - March 13th, 2012
A delegation of 10 people from the Diocese of Tokyo in Japan, together with friends from Europe, hiked the Nativity trial from Nazareth to Bethlehem.
Westtown School Group February 21st - March 5th, 2012
The Siraj Center arranged for a delegation of 21 high-school students from Westtown School in the US to travel through Palestine.
Mats Thurfjell Group February 20th 22nd, 2012
A Swedish delegation has completed a three day tour of the West Bank. The group of 19 people began with a walk down the Wadi Qelt to Jericho, followed by a tour of the city and a swim in the Dead Sea.
Watford Friends February 17th 25th, 2012
A UK delegation planted an olive tree in Salfit to mark the twinning of the town with Watford, outside London, in the UK. The event was part of a tour of Palestine organized by the Siraj Center for the Watford Twinning Communities group.
